We believe that God is the Supreme Being, Creator, and Author of our salvation. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 32:3-4, Psalm 135:5, John 3:16)
We also believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Holy Son, fully human and fully God, and Savior of the world. (John 3:17, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Galatians 4:4, Hebrews 2:17)
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, the Comforter, and is that which convicts us. (John 7:38-39, John 14:15-17, John 16:7-11, Galatians 5:16-18, Ephesians 1:13-14)
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired word of God and an all-sufficient basis of doctrine in practice. It is our instruction book. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 5:18-19, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that Believer's Baptism by immersion is the outward expression of inward change and that the Lord’s Supper is done in remembrance of Christ’s death. (Romans 6:4, 1 Peter 3:21, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 4:5, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28, Matthew 26:26-29)
We believe the human condition is lost and in need of salvation. Jesus is the only one who can save us. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:15, Titus 3:3-7)
The purpose, place and mission of the church in today’s society is to minister to a lost and dying world. (Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Timothy 1:15-16, John 6:40, 2 Peter 3:9)
The role of the laity is to support the church and pastor, and actively promote the Gospel. (Hebrews 6:10-12, Ephesians 5:3-4, 1 Timothy 5:17-18)
The role of the pastor is to be the shepherd of the flock, to preach according to scripture, to practice what he preaches and to care for the members of the flock. (Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Timothy 3:1-7)
Our relationship to the ecumenical witness is to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and to witness for Him. (John 17:20-23, Galatians 5:13-25, Matthew 28:18-20)
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this congregation, most solemnly, willfully and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We pledge to walk together in Christian Love with the guidance of the Holy Spirit;
To strive for effectiveness and growth of this church in knowledge and use of God’s Word;
To promote prosperity and spirituality of its people through Christ;
To support its worship, discipline, and doctrines;
To treat the church with respect and distinction above other institutions created by man;
To contribute funds and time cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and personal devotion;
To raise our children in God’s Word through education and example;
To seek the salvation of all who cross our paths;
To walk by Jesus’ counsel in this world;
To be fair and just in our dealings, faithful in our responsibilities, and an example of God’s love in our behaviors;
To avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger;
To resist temptation of destructive drugs or intoxicating drinks as a beverage; To reject pornography;
To be passionate in our efforts to grow the kingdom of our Savior.
We further pledge to embrace our brothers and sisters in love and compassion;
To remember and support each other in prayer;
To aid each other in sickness, sadness, and distress;
To lift and encourage others with Christian action and to speak in a way that reflects the love of Christ;
To be slow to take offense, but always quick to forgive and reconcile, to shun vengefulness, and to be mindful of the commandments of our Savior.
We also promise that, if we shall leave this congregation, we will be diligent in finding another spiritual home where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
